Hey! Great site, it's refreshing to find someone willing to share their techniques and know how. I love the shot with the star trails through the building! That must have taken a bit of hard work! Also I tried to subscribe but your feed burner RSS isn't working.
Thanks

Chris, in the northern hemisphere, the polar axis is indeed just off of the north star. You can use the the big and little dippers to pinpoint which star is the north star. In the southern hemisphere it isn't so easy. You can use the southern cross to get a good idea though. Thanks for the comment.

The second one, of the restaurant, is so creepy! Looking at it I feel like I'm lying in a coffin.

For the star trails, do you know what point in the sky the stars will rotate around? Is it always just the north star?

Wow. Just amazing! I think the second to last is my favorite of these, but they are all just stunning.

These are great. I love the texture in the black & white shots.
What great subject matter.

Dan, these are beautiful. First off, for the star trails, did you use the stacking method, or go for one straight exposure. And the second shot, is so creepy, what an awesome job!
